The Cheese School of San Francisco is the only independent institution of its kind in the nation. We are devoted to helping you maximize your enjoyment and appreciation of cheese. We’re hiring for an office and event coordinator.

Our ideal candidate:

  • truly enjoys people, both colleagues and clients, and has a natural gift for customer service
  • loves systems and details without being regimented, and knows that growing businesses must be flexible and nimble
  • has a clear, warm communication style in person, on the phone, and over email - is bright and hard-working
  • already knows some of the following systems/tools, or has a proven ability to be a quick study: e-commerce, HTML, project management, Excel, Word, Shopify, Quickbooks, Lightroom/photoshop.
  • loves cheese and good food
  • is at the beginning of a career, or at a career transition, and looking to get real work experience in event planning, hospitality, marketing, project management, and/or small business management.

Responsibilities & Duties include

  • managing private events from client booking to day of
  • confirmation of catering orders and communication with kitchen on details - marketing assistance including social media channel maintenance and lead generation
  • financial reporting and reconciling
  • leading the administrative duties of our Three-Day Intensive Cheese Education Program
  • managing class registrations and providing front-line customer service to students
  • general office maintenance

This position is 30-40 hours/week depending on the candidate and reports to the Sales and Operations Director. A majority of work will be performed at our Mission District office, but working from home is possible. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Starting pay is $15/hour.
