  • Not subject to the regulations and tradition of Europe, American cheesemakers have developed new flavor profiles and mash-up cheese recipes that can only be called, “American Originals.” So if you’re still hung up on France and Italy, allow artisan cheese authority and James Beard award-winning author Laura Werlin to introduce you to the exciting cheeses coming from the likely and less likely parts of our vast nation. Laura’s patriotism extends to wine pairings too: four wines from her four favorite American winemakers.
