Pride month is here, and it’s San Francisco Pride this weekend! We’ve created a picnic basket that includes a few delicious treats to enjoy while you’re out celebrating!
We’ll start with Mayana Pride Heart Chocolates. How gorgeous (and appropriate) are these? These hand-painted, salted caramel hearts are just the right amount of sweet and salty. They are a work of art created by award-winning Chef Daniel Herskovie. Chef Daniel and his wife, who we had the pleasure of chatting with, created these along with a Pride mini bar to bolster a spirit of inclusivity and equality. 20% of their online sales and 2% through wholesale/distributor sales (that’s us!) are donated to GLSEN from now through the end of August. A delicious confection created to support the LGBTQ community? Count us in!
We can’t help but swoon over the way the Pride Heart Chocolates pair with one of our favorites in the case: L’Amuse Brabander Goat Gouda. This beautiful cheese boasts flavors of caramel and butter, and pairs well with both wine and beer. For a delicious wine pairing, try Stirm Wine Company’s 2017 Kick-On Vineyard Eolian Riesling, an organically-farmed, dry, and fruity wine with a decadently complex structure. For those who are more keen on beer, considering bringing along the Prairie Artisan Ales Rainbow Sherbet beer. With its candylike aroma, this fruited sour with medium carbonation has a sweet candy-like taste with a crisp dry finish.
